March 25, 2012 – The Biola University men’s lacrosse team bounced back from their Friday night loss with a win against Southern Oregon University. Southern Oregon started the first quarter strong, scoring two goals before Biola could get on the board to cut the lead to 2-1 after one quarter. Junior attackman Jeff Clark drove to the goal and scored as time expired to give Biola their first goal.
Clark’s goal helped ignite the Biola offense, as they put four goals on the board in the second quarter. The Eagles defense held SOU to two goals, giving Biola a slim 5-4 lead at halftime. Both teams traded goals in the third quarter, with Biola edging SOU 3-2 in the third to extend their lead to 8-6 heading into the final quarter. Both teams netted a goal each in the fourth, allowing Biola to preserve their two goal lead, winning 9-7.
Senior midfielder Jon McMahan lead Biola in points, scoring three goals and adding an assist. Not far behind was senior attackman Marc Morgan with three goals. Senior midfielder David Sigley and junior midfielder JT Moranski both added one goal to the Eagles’ total. Senior attackman Adam Kingston dished out two assists, and Clark tallied an assist to to with his buzzer-beating goal. Senior goalie Sean Lane made 14 saves to help preserve the win.
