April 20, 2011 – The Biola lacrosse team fell to their cross-town rivals, Cal State University – Fullerton, for the second straight year, losing 15-8 on Wednesday night. Fullerton jumped out to an early 7-2 lead after the first quarter, and were able to ride that momentum to victory. Biola’s defense came back strong in the second and third quarters, allowing only two goals in the second and one in third. The offense struggled in the remainder of the first half, getting shutout by Fullerton’s defense in the second quarter. After half, the offense started to find it’s stride, outscoring their opponents 3-1 in the third quarter to cut the lead in half at 10-5 going into the final quarter. The first half of the fourth quarter found Biola’s defense holding tight, allowing just one goal, but the Fullerton offense came back in the final seven minutes, adding four more goals to their total. The Eagle’s managed to score three goals in the fourth, but it was too little, too late, as they were unable to get closer than the 15-8 final score.

Sophomore midfielder Scott Gamelson led Biola in goals, with three on the night. Sophmore attackman Jeff Clark led the team in total points with four, on one goal and three assists. Junior attackman Marc Morgan added two goals, while junior midfielder David Sigley and senior midfielder Scott Shiokari each scored one goal. Sigley, Shiokari and sophomore midfielder Robby Roach all had one assist in the game as well. Freshman Jimmy Perdomo-Hazen tied his season high for saves in a game with 15 in the loss.
