March 17, 2016 – Despite an 0-7 beginning to the 2016 season, the Biola University men’s lacrosse team finds themselves in the hunt for post-season play in the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference. The Eagles have won two games in a row, outscoring their opponents 55-10, giving them a 2-1 record in the SLC North. With a five game conference slate, and two conference games left to play, Biola controls their playoff destiny. A 4-1 finish in the SLC North all but guarantees that the Eagles will host an SLC quarterfinal game against the #3 team in the SLC South.
Two milestones of note have taken place in the 2016 season: junior Bryce Hummel has set a new record for most groundballs in Biola lacrosse history, with three more games to continue to add to his total. The record was previously held by Josh Nordstrom. Junior Jon Prichard notched goal 100 of his career against Long Beach State. Prichard needs just 15 goals to tie the Biola record for most goals in team history. The record is currently held by Brad Westcott.
