March 10, 2012 – The Biola University Eagles won their third conference game of the 2012 season, extending their winning streak to three games, and placing them squarely on top of the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference Div. 2 Western standings. The visiting UC San Diego Tritons entered the game 2-0 in conference games before falling to Biola.
The Eagles got out to a quick 3-0 lead in a first quarter dominated by slow-down offense. The Tritons came back with a fast-break goal in the second, but Biola countered, scoring twice. The Eagles took to halftime with a 5-1 lead.
The second half played out much the same as the first, with Biola winning the third quarter 3-0 to extend their lead to 8-1 going into the final frame. uCSD managed to fight through a double-team in the fourth to add a goal to their total, but they would get no closer. Biola added a man-up goal, and UCSD tipped a pass into their own goal to extend the lead to a 10-2 final.
Junior attackman Jeff Clark lead the Eagles once again, with three goals and two assists. Senior attackman Adam Kingston chipped in with two goals and one assist, and senior attackman Marc Morgan rounded out the attack scoring with one goal and one assist.
Freshman midfielder Matt Young lead the midfield ranks with two goals, with junior midfielder Bobby Welty and freshman midfielder Riley Corbett adding a goal each. Senior midfielder Jon McMahan assisted on two goals and junior midfielder Jairus Burish assisted on one goal. Senior goalie Sean Lane played an outstanding game, stopping 10 stops in the win.
