April 21, 2012 – The Biola University men’s lacrosse team closed out the 2012 regular season with a win over CSU Channel Islands. The win gives the Eagles a perfect 5-0 conference record, and their eighth overall win of the season eclipses their 2011 mark of seven wins.

The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair, with Channel Islands nearly matching Biola’s efforts in a 3-2 quarter. The second quarter continued much the same, but the Eagles were  able to outscore their opponents 4-2 to extend their lead to 7-4 going into halftime.

Biola’s defense stepped up in the second half, as the Eagles allowed only two goals in the half, allowing the offense to take advantage. Biola picked up in the third right where they left off in the second, notching three more goals to further their lead to 10-5. Two more goals came in the fourth quarter, as the Eagles doubled up Channel Islands for a 12-6 victory.

Junior attackman Jeff Clark lead the Eagle in scoring, as he did often this season, tallying three goals and one assist. Senior attackman Marc Morgan wasn’t far behind with two goals and an assist of his own. Rounding out the attack line was senior Adam Kingston with one goal in the game.

Midfield scoring was lead by senior Jon McMahan and freshman Josh Nordstrom who both notched two goals. Two freshman midfielders, Matt Young and Riley Corbett, both chipped in with one goal each. Senior midfielder Austin Foxworthy and junior midfielder Scott Gamelson both added an assist to Biola’s totals. Senior goalie Sean Lane made 11 saves to lead the Eagles to victory.
