April 9, 2011 – The Biola lacrosse team improved their conference record to 3-2 for the season in their final conference game on Saturday against Occidental. The win did not proved to be an easy, with a back and forth game throughout until the Eagles pulled ahead by one late in the game, eventually winning 10-9. Occidental got on the board very quickly, netting three goals early in the game, countered by two for Biola, to take a 3-2 lead into the second quarter. Defensive adjustments allowed the Eagles to shutout Occidental in the second quarter, and gain a 4-3 lead at the half. The third quarter played out much like the first, with Occidental bringing the game to a 6-6 tie headed into the final quarter. After a back and forth quarter that saw multiple tied scores, the Eagles managed to gain the lead with under three minutes to play, and held Occidental scoreless to secure the win.

Without leading scorer Jeff Clark in the lineup, Biola was led by junior midfielder David Sigley with three goals, and freshman midfielder JT Moranski, who scored his first career goal early, and went on to put in two more for his first career hat trick. Junior attackman Marc Morgan also tallied three points with two goals and an assist. Rounding out the goal scoring were senior midfielder Scott Shiokari and sophomore midfielder Robby Roach with a goal each. Shiokari scored the eventual game winner in the fourth quarter, and gathered an assist, all while taking over the attack role from Clark for the game. Additional helpers came in the form of sophomore midfielder Scott Gamelson’s two assists, and freshman attackman David Martin’s assist. Freshman goalie Jimmy Perdomo-Hazen kept the Eagles in the game with his 11 saves.

David Sigley, up to his old tricks, ties the game at 8-8 in the fourth:
