February 5, 2011 – The Biola University men’s lacrosse team lost their 2011 season opener, 17 – 4, at the hands of Division 1 opponent, Claremont. Riddled with injuries, and playing with less than a full roster, the Eagles were unable to get anything going against a very tough Claremont defense. Junior midfielder David Sigley accounted for two of Biola’s four goals, and added an assist to lead the Eagles with three points. Sophomore attackman Jeff Clark chipped in with one goal and one assist, and freshman attackman David Martin scored a goal in his first game ever.
Freshman goalie Jimmy Perdomo-Hazen did his best to keep Claremont out of the goal, making 12 saves in his Biola debut. Both teams combined to rack up 14 penalty minutes throughout the game.
