Narrow Loss to Claremont Opens Season

February 11, 2012 – The Biola men’s lacrosse team started their 2012 campaign with a close 7-8 loss at the hands of Claremont. The Eagles were unable to get past Claremont’s goalie for the tying goal, despite having three chances in the final 30 seconds. Freshman midfielder Matt Young let loose a hard left-handed shot that sailed wide, followed by a bounce shot from senior midfielder Jon McMahan that narrowly missed crossing the goal line, even with last second help from senior midfielder David Sigley.

Biola Beats a Short-Handed Pacific Team

April 16, 2011 – The Biola men’s lacrosse team took on a short-handed University of the Pacific team, winning 20-5. Pacific was only able to travel with 10 players, leaving them with no substitutes for the entire game. Despite the obvious disadvantage, Pacific managed to play hard, scoring at least one goal in every quarter. Biola jumped out to an early 5-1 lead after the first quarter, and tacked on four more goals in the second to take a 9-2 lead into halftime. Biola Falters in Second Half Against USC

April 7, 2011 – After a first half that found the Eagles on top of the Trojans, Biola faltered in the second half, leading to their 12-8 loss over the University of Southern California. The Trojans started out slow, scoring once in the first two quarters, but Biola came out firing on all cylinders, recording three goals in the first quarter and two more in the second. Eagles Upend Cal Lutheran

April2, 2011 – The Biola men’s lacrosse team took down the Cal Lutheran Kingsmen to win their second conference game of the season. The win takes Biola’s conference record to 2-2 this season.  The Eagles started somewhat slow, scoring only twice in the opening quarter, but held the Kingsmen scoreless. The second quarter was much of the same, with Biola extended their lead with four goals, and shutting out Cal Lutheran, for a 6-0 lead at halftime. Biola Wins Big at Marymount

March 26, 2011 – The Biola men’s lacrosse team bounced back from their Wednesday night loss with win over the Mariners of Marymount College on Saturday. Biola earned their first ever shutout, posting a 24-0 win over the Mariners. The Eagles jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead within the first 2:30 of the game, and extended the lead to 9-0 after the first quarter. Biola’s offense slowed only slightly, putting up five more goals in the second, taking a 14-0 into halftime.
