February 19, 2011 – The Eagle’s early season struggles continued on Saturday, as they lost to Concordia 17-4. The loss is Biola’s first ever loss to Concordia. Concordia’s attack line and transition game was too much for Biola, as they quickly fell behind 3-1 after the first quarter. Sophomore attackman Jeff Clark was able to get free from behind the goal several times, resulting in Biola’s lone first quarter goal.

Biola couldn’t stop Concordia in the second, as they opened up an 8-point lead going into halftime, with a 10-2 score. Concordia outscored the Eagles 7-2 in the second half, for a final score of 17-4. In addition to Clark’s goal, junior attackman Marc Morgan, sophomore midfielder Scott Gamelson, and junior defenseman Sean Lane all scored one goal. The lone Biola assist came on Gamelson’s game, on a fast-break pass from Morgan. Freshman goalie Jimmy Perdomo-Hazen recorded nine saves and allowed 15 goals, and junior goalie Daris Chang recorded three saves and allowed two goals.
