March 24, 2014 – The Biola University Eagles men’s lacrosse team rode their second half defense to a win over the visiting Wildcats of Central Washington University. The Eagles’ defense allowed just one goal in the final 30 minutes of the game, allowing the offense to take over and ensure the victory.

Biola quickly got out to a 4-2 lead in the first quarter, but the Wildcats fought back in the second, and Biola held a slim 6-5 lead at the half. Central scored quickly in the third to even the score at 6-6, but it would prove to be their last goal of the game. The Eagles put two goals on the board in the third, and four more in the fourth, giving them the 12-6 win.

David Shaum (So., Attack) lead all scorers with six total points on four goals and two assists. Jon Prichard (Fr., Attack) was just behind Shaum in total points with five goals in the contest. Eric Gamelson (So., Attack) joined in on the attack scoring with one goal and three assists. Midfield scoring came from Josh Nordstrom (Jr., Midfield) and Bryce Hummel (Fr., Midfield) who each tallied one goal and one assist. John Harzan (Fr., Goalie), fresh off shooting 36 holes for Biola’s golf team, played his best game of the season, tallying 13 saves, for a .684 save percentage.
