Biola Bounces Visiting Regis
March 6, 2012 – The Biola University men’s lacrosse team played host to Regis University of Denver, continuing the Rangers’ tough trip to California, with the Eagles’ 17-6 win. Regis played their third game in four days, playing Occidental and Fullerton the weekend prior.
Both teams started out slow, but Biola managed to take a 3-1 lead after the first quarter. Regis managed to find the back of the net three times in the second quarter, but Biola’s offense proved to be too much, as they scored eight times to extend their lead to 11-4 at halftime.
The Eagles defense kept the Rangers offense quiet in the second half, giving up only one goal in both the third and quarters. Biola’s offense slowed slightly, but still put up four goals in the third and two more in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
Senior attackmen Marc Morgan and Adam Kingston lead the Eagles with six points apiece; Morgan scoring his six on six goals, and Kingston scoring on two goals and four assists. Not far behind was junior attackman Jeff Clark with two goals and three assists.
Senior midfielder Jon McMahan and freshman midfielder Matt Young both scored two goals, with Young adding an assist to his totals. Junior midfielder Jairus Burish, senior midfielder David Sigley, and freshman midfielder Josh Nordstrom all chipped in with a goal each. Sigley added three assists to his offensive production, and Nordstrom added one assist. Senior goalie Sean Lane stopped seven Regis shots in the win.
