BIOLA has played their first official game of the season, and it was a great one to watch. Claremont Cougars travelled out to BIOLA on the fine afternoon of February 5th to face the new Eagles lacrosse team. We had very high expectations for this game, and we did not let ourselves down on this one.
The Cougars came out and took down BIOLA 8-7, but it was not without a fight. Lead changes were a common occurrence and both teams fought to the very end. This is the closest game against Claremont in the history of the rivalry, coming down to some crucial saves by the Claremont goalie to seal the victory for them.
On the whole, I felt like we played a great game. It was within our grasp to tie the game, and even win it. Some great play all over the field, and our ability to spread out the offense were the keys to our goals. Our defense played amazing, only allowing 8 goals and forcing a HUGE turnover with 1:30 left on the game clock to give our offense the chance to tie it up.
Sadly we did not get the victory. 5:00 minutes in penalties cost us 4 goals and, i believe, the game. Once we’re able to get our offense at full throttle, and eliminate unnecessary penalties, BIOLA will be a threat to every single team we play this season.

Thanks for the report, Sean. For those of us far away and unable to attend the games, this type of game feedback is awesome. Look forward to future blogcasts as the season progresses. Sounded like an awesome game; go get the next one! All the best to you and the Eagles this season.
Thank you Tim! I hope you can make it down for a game or two, we thoroughly enjoy having Matt out there with us this season. He’s a great lacrosse player and an amazing person.
That guy is so cute. I’m extremely jealous of his fiance.
